I'm not a children's librarian, but I often cover our children's information desk during storytimes, and I love to see the regulars come and go. My favorite du jour is a three-year-old cutie named Sam who comes every week for Mother Goose Storytime. I wasn't here this morning, and when the staff explained that I changed schedules to celebrate my birthday, he exclaimed, "she's too old for cake!" If I didn't know him, I might think they put him up to this. Knowing him, I'm sure the little angel thought of this all by himself. So cute!
...and I did have cake.
